In late September 2022, a friend from my UAF undergraduate years Justin and I embarked on a three-night sea kayak trip out of Whittier. Unfortunately we didn’t get farther than the Lazy Otter, a cozy coffee shop by the city boat harbor.

Welcome to my new website! I hope to make this a regular forum for “learning by sharing,” whether it be the more photogenic parts of my job in conservation and ecology, analyzing messy datasets, or retrofitting the old bus in my driveway into a liveable space.

In spring 2016 I had the pleasure of hiking to Upper Russian Lake with two of my good friends to install water temperature loggers as part of my graduate research. Our local paper the Peninsula Clarion published this nice account about the journey and the larger project.
